About Me
I'm a 4th generation native of Western Colorado (Fruita). I am passionate about the outdoors, meeting interesting people, drinking great beer and travelling with my wife Kathy and puppy Cinder in our 1986 VW Westfalia van. I've been a competitive cyclist (road), ski patroller, paddleboarder and outdoor enthusiast as I live in one of the most interesting places in the world. I have served in our armed forces during wartime and most recently left my job as the leader of one of the world's top business incubators after 10 years so that I could focus on helping those in my community and our world who need it. I am fascinated by "who" people are in the world and generally curious about what makes all things tick. "The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. My Background
Education
I started my entrepreneurial journey mowing lawns and delivering the local paper at the ripe age of 11. Since then, I served in the US Navy and was formally trained as a Personnelman (think HR Director), firefighter, swimmer, and other duties as assigned. I received my BS in Marketing with an Accounting emphasis while studying philosophy from the University of Utah. I was formally trained as a commercial underwriter through the American Institute of Banking (like a Banking MBA) and later received my Omega Certification as a Commercial Banker. During my time as the Executive Director/CEO of the Business Incubator Center (recognized as the #1 incubator in the world of its kind in the world under my leadership) and Riverview Technology Corporation, I became a Certified Incubator Manager through the InBia, was certified in lean launch/startup technologies, became a certified SBDC and Score Coach and also did a significant amount of work/training through Boardsource around nonprofit board development/management. Recently I graduated Core Essentials from Coach U (life coaching/associate's level) and am working on my Professional Essentials from Coach U (life coaching bachelor's level) and am in process of getting certified via the International Coaching Federation.
Specialization
I specialize in life coaching for Executive Leadership of for profit and non-profit corporations. I also specialize in small business consulting around finances, strategy, board development, leadership development and staff relations.
